Job Summary:

The VP, Operations & Business Development reports to the organization’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and shall have significant interaction with the organization's top management, stakeholders, and customers.

 

As a senior executive within a start-up environment, you will be responsible for day-to-day leadership, execution of strategies within the organization's strategic and policy framework, monitoring company performance through management information system reports and evaluating the effectiveness of company operations and cross department boundaries to assure that company goals are met.

 

The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 15 years of Operations and Business development experiences with a minimum of 8 years of management experience.  He/she must have experience working in a start-up, fast-paced and dynamic business environment with a proven record of successful business execution and financial results.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participates in the conceptualization and formulation of the organization's strategic goals and targets.
  • Creates long-term strategies and operating objectives for the organization.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations, and keep CEO appraised of significant events and critical milestones
  • Identify and develop business strategies and execute to fuel company growth. Responsible for identifying and pursuing new business, partnership and joint venture opportunities to increase product sales and market share.
  • Work with other VPs and senior executives for flawless execution and for financially successful results
  • Directs all, or a large portion of, the evaluation of new revenue generating opportunities. Oversees financial analysis and due diligence reviews of new business opportunities and coordinates their legal review and structure.
  • Oversees business development deals and contracts and ensures that they are formulated to benefit the organization. Responsible for negotiating and closing new business deals.
  • Lead and manage senior management team to ensure budget targets are met and to identify any roadblock and its solution. Monitor KPI and Profitability, and address tactical solutions if there is any risk of not meeting target.
  • Responsible for Profit and Loss and other financial results
  • Lead the execution and quality of our products and services by driving the continuous improvement of our team and processes to enable talent and innovation at all levels. Establishes and implements operational policies, protocols and procedures.
  • Create focus for our senior management and operational leaders – cut the noise, guide them through priority setting, and hold them accountable to constantly executing on meaningful work
  • Work with CEO and CFO to lead our annual budgeting and operational plans that support our long-term financial strategy
  • Resource Planning: Ensures that the organization can successfully accommodate planned growth and expansion. Evaluates feasibility of developing new or revised systems, processes, and procedures and ensures their implementation. Ensures that direct reports have appropriate resources to achieve defined objectives
  • Identify and negotiate future business partners and/or licensors to expand our services and products
  • Collaborate closely with Senior Management team and CEO to support decisions and evaluation of potential business opportunities
  • Develop and work with new and/or existing distribution partners and present, negotiate and sell-in our products and services
  • Ensures the ongoing training and development of direct reports.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess a minimum of 15+ years of experience in corporate strategy, business development or business operations experience or roles
  • 8 + years of experience in leading, motivating and driving teams to success
  • Experience working in a startup organization and building up a team and business
  • Ability to successfully work and negotiate with distribution and platform partners
  • Proven successful track record in achieving financial goals and delivering quality expectations in the online game business
  • Strong knowledge of the software/game market and platforms
  • Must demonstrate strong communication skills, attention to detail, collaborative spirit, strong work ethic, out of the box thinking, proactive and assertive approach, and be a motivated team player
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with cultural sensitivity to work with an international and diverse team and company
  • Undergraduate degree required. MBA or other relevant graduate degree preferred.
